HOW TO REGISTER AT THE MCCH
If you would like to register (or reregister after an absence), we would love to count you as our friend!
Please click on the following link shown here:
I apologize in advance for the difficulty of the CAPTCHA response. Hackers can now recognize and defeat the CAPTCHA system, and I have set it to the maximum difficulty. Many people, especially those who are colorblind will have problems with it. Please have someone help you with it if you are stymied. I cannot afford to not use it. You also MUST answer the "DLM?" question, even if you do not know the answer. Failure to answer that question will cause delay in approval.
You will receive an email from me requiring you to complete your registration by following the instructions in the email. Obviously, if you give a spurious email address, you will not get the email and after a time I will delete your registration. Later, if the regular "checks" that happen return a fictitious email address, your registration will be deleted. I do not register to get through your spam blocker. If I get a response from a spam blocker, I shall delete your registration. (YOU contacted ME, and you need to ensure I can communicate with you.)
The software does not allow free, temporary, or anonymous email addresses like hotmail, gmail, yahoo, and the like. No, you may not use facebook either! (Nice try!) Effective December 2006, aol addresses are free accounts and will no longer be accepted for registration purposes. (Those who have previously registered with them can keep them.)
Obviously, such email accounts are free and unabashedly easy to obtain, as well as the information presented to "verify" the account can be completely false as to ID. I get hundreds of email attempts per day to use AOL, gmail, and other free accounts, I just automate the refusal now.
Free email accounts are THE MOST abused type of email used to attempt to set up an account. One look at stopforumspam.com listings show this to be true. You may not register with a free account.
These services, when used by a person who would really be a participating member, use this to add our members to their lists to target advertising and to build profiles in return for their services. We do not cooperate with that. These emails have a distinct lack of "permanence" and are "throwaway" accounts that are untracable. Due to the huge amount of fraudulent postings and offers from these free accounts, (not to mention the abuse heaped upon me when I deny membership because of this)...
FREE EMAIL ACCOUNTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR REGISTRATION! ...Really! ...Seriously! For real, NO!
I ask that you use your real, root email address. If the address you provide comes up as a free service, the account will not be approved. Also, if the address resolves to a blog spot, or does not resolve at all, the account will not be approved. Do not even ask, beg or cajole me. In fact, I usually consider it to be harassing me when people do not stop.
Basically, we are all friends here. This is a private club. It is not open membership to anybody on the internet. If you would object to telling your friends your real name and your real address/telephone number/email, then this place is probably not for you. The would-be SPAMMERS are about the only ones who balk at giving me their real name, or someone with something to hide. (One last thing... Should you not actually answer the question, and leave the question as a "web bot", guess what? You get deleted.)
- I require your real email address for registration. It must not be a free email account.
- I require your age due to my privacy policy. This is so that I know of any underage persons on the site. We are a family site and we insist upon accountability in postings, both adults and those who are not. Children are not permitted to engage in purchases, sales, or trades unless their parents approve and accept responsibility for them.
- I also insist that I know who you are. "Bud Wieser" is the most over-used name given, and I tire of that ploy.
- Use of proxy servers to view the site is forbidden.
- If you require anonynimity due to your job or personal circumstances (like you would be bombarded with complaints or questions because you design the product for a manufacturer), I can permit invisible membership.
Anyone found to be using a proxy server to view the site will be deemed a TOS violation and the account will be suspended.
Please also know that we have site rules here, which you agree to by becoming a member. Read them. They are found here:
Our goal is to provide the best possible environment for most toy car enthusiasts. We want your visit to mboxcommunity.com forum to be rewarding and sincerely appreciate your participation and support of this site, as well as adherence to our Site Rules.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
