Dear all
Looks a nice simple unspoilt model. Nice to see equal sized wheels front and rear.
Has it been in a toy box for a few days - the finish isn't 100%?
Chris
This design is not officially debuting til the 19th but Hotwheels has disregarded it!

Equal sized wheels! Yay!
Really? I thought a more substantial design modification was in the works for 2010. Doesn't seem to be much of a difference here from the current model. I had also heard there was a panorama roof option on the way. Wouldn't it have made sense to include that on the new model? Hmmmm....

At first sight I thought it was a pre-pro. But look on the chassis : it has the now-regular production code stamped on it. "A42" probably means "made in the 42nd week", from October 13 to October 18. Fairly recent, then.Originally Posted by chris.p
Cool! It perfectly matches my post on the Cube... and makes for a very correct Hot Wheels. Im also happy Ford didn´t change the excelent looks of the Mustang a lot (not that they have the money to do that anyway).

As the Mustang is just about the only model that Ford can claim as a success these days, changing it much would have made no sense. Now that they have sold Jaguar, Land Rover and Mazda, revenue from their Hot Wheels license may be a much larger line item in the Ford budget. Let's see, I could buy two of these or a share of Ford stock. Which will be worth more in ten years?

Doug,
Your comments about the Mustang are well taken, but there may be some misunderstandings about the connection between Ford and Mazda. It does not own its Japanese partner outright, and has not sold its stake. Unlike Jaguar and Land Rover which were owned by Ford and sold outright to Tata Motors, Ford owns a 33.4% stake in Mazda.
The current discussion involves Ford selling a portion of that stake, but maintaining all current ties to Mazda, including sharing U.S. plants. There are some who believe the timing for a sale of the stake is bad, since Mazda's market value has dropped substantially along with most of the rest of the auto industry.
Other than a short squeeze of historic proportions that sent the value of Volkswagen shares through the roof, it has not been a good year for automotive stocks.
Meanwhile, Ford is still looking for a suitor for Volvo, which may be sold to BMW.

Wow, history repeats itself, sort of. Remember that the 1968 Corvette was revealed first by Hot Wheels since the actual car was being kept under wraps by GM.
Please note that Hot Wheels didn't leak this design, it's a Malaysian :censor::censor::censor::censor: merchant who has access to prototypes and early HW releases.
This is great news. I was hoping Hot Wheels would do the 2010 Mustang. Looks to be in scale with the 2005 Mustang GT, 2008 GT500 and the 07 Custom Mustang they've done. Will be a welcome additon to the collection for sure. Wonder if they will release it in a number of wheel and interior variations like they did with the 2005 Mustang GT. Can't wait to find one, no two, no three....
