thankyou ever so much for your email and for your help. you feel i am selling fakes which i understand are not .seeing your forum i beleive it is against your policy to mention auctions that are still live, this was breached but everyone has there own views.

To which I replied: "I have no sympathy for you, if you are the one I am thinking of. They are fakes, and you are a thief. It is against my policy to to link or give auction numbers or the auction IDs. IT IS NOT against my policy to discuss those, like you, that perpetrate fraud. ESPECIALLY THOSE AUCTIONS THAT ARE LIVE AND WHERE THE HOBBY SUFFERS AS A RESULT OF THAT FRAUD."

If that is his name and he is Surrey-based, then he is likely different to the "gentleman" I had dealings with - I never even got a name out of him, he was that dodgy.

JP - no, I checked the history after I hit the "pay" button...d'oh! Never again - I try to learn from my mistakes.

As for this faker and any others out there - I think I have made my views abundantly clear on this forum in the past. I am confident I won't encounter this fellow though, as I have no intention (or even need) to use OFAS any more.

    Cheers,
    Gavin

With this particular truck how can you do a wheel swap when both ends of the axles are rounded or domed? I guess it's fairly easy to crimp an axle end and to break or melt off old wheels but how would the swap but done in this instance? And no, I have no intentions of ever doing such a thing, it's naughty, very naughty

It is a lot easier to swap a rounded axel than a crimped one.

We are not going to get into details on how to fake rare castings and variations.

This may sound arrogant, but here goes anyway; if I wanted to fake a rare wheel variation and sell it for big bucks ... you would never be able to tell the wheels were switched. Just know it can be done and fortunately for us, most fakers are not very good at it.
