     There will be 16 Christmas cars available in stores by the end of the month.  The 16 cars consist of 4 cars with 4 different paint jobs.  The 4 cars and their colors are:  ’67 Camaro (red, white, blue and green), ’67 Dodge Charger (red, white, blue and green), Passion (red, white, silver, and green) and the VW Bug (red, white, blue and green).  Each store will have their own assortment of cars and no store shipment will be the same.  Each different assortment will have one car that is specially colored for that particular assortment.  (That is how you get 16 cars by finding that “extra” car color in each of the stores!).  They will be priced about $5 per car.  Target will have the first shipments and so far, from what I have heard, not all of their cases contain the ’67 Camaro.  You may have to search a few stores to get the Camaros.  Next the Kmart stores then Toys R Us will get their shipments.  Target will receive a second assortment that is different from the first.  If there are any leftovers at Mattel, they will be sold through the HWC website.  Stay tuned for more details.

     Snap-On Tools is going to have 6 more cars to make up a second series.  The 6 cars will be:  ’57 Chevy (red), ’65 Ford Mustang Convertible (white), ’69 Dodge Charger (white), and ’70 Plymouth Barracuda Hardtop (red).  The last 2 cars, I believe, come in a play set again like last time.  They are:  Nissan Skyline and the Toyota Celica.

     Avon will have another set of Park-N-Plates.  There are 4 cars in this new set based on the Justice League characters.  The 4 cars are:  Wild thing (Superman), Batmobile (2004 FE #031), Swoope Coupe (The Joker) and the Gov’ner.  I will try to have ordering information in the next issue.

     If my sources are correct, the next Kmart Collector’s Day will be, of all days, Thanksgiving Day!  It is November 25^th, 2004 at 9am.   As with all things…this is always subject to change.

     Now that the Irvine HW Convention is over, I have a list of the cars that were offered during the convention.  There were several and they were:  3 window ’34 (red @4,000), Classic Cobra (red @ 4,000), ’32 Ford Coupe 1/24 & 1/64 set (red and black @3,000), VW Drag Truck (blue and white-Mattel Charity car @ 4,000), Baja Breaker (blue chrome @10,000), ’34 Ford Delivery (red-Early Times @5,000), ’56 Ford Panel Truck (Light blue-HWN subscriber car @750), Custom Mustang (black with ghost flames-end of convention car @2,000).  The cars offered for the bingo games were:  Mustang Mach 1 (gold, red, white, and blue) and the VW Drag Bus (white and pink).  There were 2 dinner cars also.  It was a set of 2 Passions one was white with flames and the other was silver and yellow with flames.  The 2005 Nationals Convention will be in Rosemont, IL, which is a suburb of Chicago, IL.

     There is a Pit Cruiser bike that will be a mail-in offer from HWC.  You can go there at www.hotwheelscollectors.com.  You need to purchase $20 worth of HW Racing cars and send in the UPCs and RECIEPT dated from October 15th to October 31st.  Send to:  HOT WHEELS PIT CRUISER, PO BOX 1229, EAST AURORA, NY 14052.  You must print off the order form and sent it with the UPCs and receipt.

     DCX is the newest diecast magazine to hit the market.  It covers everything diecast related!  I have read through the first issue and I am already impressed with it.  You can go to www.dcxmagazine.com/specialoffer and enter in the code (6410NB).  You can get 6 issues for $19.95 (that is a one year subscription as it is a bi-monthly magazine).

     There will be an 8-piece set in 1/24 scale in stores soon.  It will be called the Freedom Series.  The 4 cars that will be offered in 2 colors each are:  ’32 Ford (gray and red OR red white and blue), Anglia Panel Truck (red white and blue OR red white and gray), Fat Fendered ’40 (red and white OR red and black), and the Passion Merc (red and white OR black and white).

     A new Dragster was debuted for the first time at the Irvine Convention.  It is white with Mattel and Mattel Toy Store logos.  It will soon be available in one of the Mattel Toy Stores.  They are located in Chino, CA-Phone (909) 606-9048…City of Industry, CA-Phone (626) 855-6850…El Segundo, CA-Phone (310) 252-3384…and San Bernardino, CA-Phone (909) 382-3780.

     The DCMF had another car made for raising funds for their charity.  This time it was a white Custom ‘69 Camaro (aka. Heavy Chevy).  It was tampoed like the 1995 TH Camaro with rubber tires.  The car was sold out however, due to orders that did not settle successfully they will have a small quantity of cars available.  You can go to http://www.dcmfwishes.org to check on the remaining cars.

     There will be a new 100% Collectable set with 3 cars with a Bruce Wayne theme.  There will be a Classic Cobra, Ferrari Dino (new casting!), and the 3^rd car will most likely be one of the many versions of the Batmobile. 

     The online Larry Wood 4 piece set will go on sale at HWC on November 23^rd, 2003.  It will have the Classic Packard (orange), Passion Too (chrome blue), VW Bug (chrome purple), and the Olds 442 (chrome red).

     A new 5 pack has been seen in stores.  It is the Circus 5 Pack.  The cars in it are:  3 Window ’34 (red w/white fenders), ’57 Roadster (purple), Hiway Hauler (red and white), Midnight Otto (yellow), and the Power Panel (antifreeze green).

    Finally announced for 2005 are the Final Run cars and the Treasure Hunts!  The TH for 2005 will be as follows:  Purple Passion, ’67 Camaro, ’58 Corvette, ‘57 Chevy, ’56 Flashsider, 3 Window ’34, Rodger Dodger, Mustang Mach 1, ’67 Pontiac GTO, Mini Cooper, ’70 Plymouth Roadrunner, and the Double Demon.  This will mark the 10^th anniversary of the TH series and they wanted to make all 12 cars great ones for the occasion!  The 2005 Final Run cars will be:  the Hydroplane, Thomassima III, Buick Wildcat, Big Chill, and the Treadator.

     The 2004 Dream Halloween Hot Wheels is the Crooze W Oozie cycle! Which is a first for the Dream Halloween Hot Wheels series. The paint is a lime-metallic green with orange flames. The side of the gas tank has the Dream Halloween logo and the year of its release (2004). The top of the gas tank has the CAAF logo. The handlebars, shock tubes, headlight, pipes, and engine are polished. The front and rear fenders have white spider webs on them. The chopper comes in its own custom display case. The case has the Dream Halloween 2004 and CAAF logos on the top corners.

     The last 2 Mother’s Wax cars will be available through the HWC website at www.hotwheelscollectors.com .  They are the Passion (black with red and yellow flames, rubber white wall tires and the Mother’s logo), and the Mustang Mach 1 (chrome with red and black stripes, rubber tires and Mother’s logo).  The 2 cars will be sold as a SET for $19.99 plus shipping.  Production was limited to 10,000.

    Also available from the HWC website is a 100% HW C6 Corvette (1/64-red with rubber tires AND an opening hood!) that commemorates the completion of the newest Corvette, the C6, at the Bowling Green, KY plant.  Only 5,000 were produced.  The employees of the Corvette plant were given 2,000 and HWC has 3,000 to sell for $19.99 plus shipping.
