The following photos were supplied by MCCH member Steve Brown and show some rare photos of the Lesney buildings. Also shown is some ephemera showing a pre-pro Dodge and some Yesteryears.  Anybody know the name of the smiling lady in the factory?

Waterdon Road factory, this was the first purpose built R&D building.

Tottenham Road, tool room.

Chingfield Road, yesteryear assembally factory.

Boxes ready to be shipped out.

Labeling machine,- putting on Swamp Rat labels.

NEW!!!

This photo is of the Lesney Products factory in Homerton Road. At the time this photo was taken, the Lesney Giftware series was made here as was the diecasting of industrial products for industry. This factory still stands and operates today. It still trades under Lesney Products and produces industrial die castings. I visited the factory and saw some of the products.

This photo is of a spray painting machine for painting flat items. Amongst the Lesney staff it was known as "The Bed".

Shows factories along Eastway Road. Some of these factories are still there today, being used for very different things than making matchbox models!!

A plastics machine. Looks like they could be making axle covers for the early Superfast models.

Sub-assemblies of Superfast models.

A boxmaking/folding machine.
